Giving Tuesday - Ski Without Limits Campaign
Reaching this goal will help kickoff the ski season for our Skiers ensuring they have an on time start to the season's races.
Imagine skiing 10 kilometers with your eyes closed — racing toward a medal, trusting your Guide to set you up for success. For visually impaired (VI) Nordic skiers, none of this happens without a Guide — and covering their expenses is often the biggest barrier to competing.
Each race costs twice as much for these athletes: they must pay for their own travel, housing, and meals — and their Guide’s as well. Guide costs can exceed $2,000 per race, and elite VI skiers may compete up to 8 times each season.
Your donation to the Visually Impaired Nordic Skier Fund (VINSF) this Giving Tuesday helps cover these expenses so talented VI athletes can focus on what they do best — racing to the finish line.
There are about 10 elite visually impaired Nordic skiers competing across the U.S. each year. That number stays small because of two major barriers: expense and lack of trained Guides.
Your support helps remove those barriers — giving athletes the chance to compete, medal, and inspire others who dream of doing the same.
